Forging Kiln
Steel cylinder blanks
T° 1300°C max – Homogeneity +/- 10°C
Bogie hearth kiln with an interior length of around 22m.
The kiln can heat, up to 1300°C, parts that are 21m long, have a maximum section of 3m x 3m and weigh up to 200 tonnes. The temperature regulation accuracy is only by a few degrees.
30 Regemat 350 burners from our partner WS, with a nominal capacity of 200kW (+200 in Boost mode) each, are installed on the structure.
The burners are self-regenerative with ceramic recuperators incorporated in the burner apparatus. These burners have a Flox® mode which is automatically activated above 850°C, thus allowing better homogeneity of the temperature in the kiln section.
Combined with an ultra-effective Superwool HT®/Maftec® hybrid fibrous covering with very low inertia, this kiln enables a consumption reduction of 30% compared to a more “traditional” kiln equipped with hot air burners and dense refractory coverings.
The low inertia of the kiln combined with advanced regulation enables great flexibility for the production teams without the slightest overshoot when re-entering the parts after a forging stage.
